Apparently it was a WoW thing where Horde players typed "lol" and Alliance players would see it as "kek".
At first I thought it was an intentional typo of "lel" since the K and L keys are right next to each other -- "lel" being a common joke corruption of lol and le, to parody 9gag and Reddit users.

Well apparently someone (maybe Sargon? I forget) is abusing how impossibly vague the UK rules on ethnicity to officially register "kekistani" so it'll appear on the 2020 UK census. It's meant to be a sort of protest on how silly ethnicity is treated in the UK, but technically speaking it supposedly checks all the boxes so it might become a legally "real" thing soon if they get (got?) enough signatures.

kek is from World of Warcraft... holy s*** i feel old. then liberals, media, and SJWs turned it into something racist. It started off as a play on "lol" because when enemy players typed it you couldn't understand them so it translated lol into kek. Hence the saying "top kek"....
then they did the same thing with Pepe the frog.... Pepe the frog started off ass a meme from the online bodybuilding community. Bodybuilding.com and then the bodybuilding subreddit used Pepe for a bunch of different memes. Don't know why we but we did. Then somehow as of last year he became a part of this alt-right nonsense and now is associated with racism and nazism? Wtf? He's just a bodybuilding meme frog. So tired of people ruining everything. They take innocent things and ruin them...

Pepe was just used to make a memes, then Hillary Clinton and such called them out on it so it became their official mascot. It is closely associated but not the same. The reason that /pol/ and such uses Kek originates with WoW in a way, because it just so happens to be the name of the God that has a frog head like Pepe. Also the song Shadilay (that I posted the video of) is a song from an Italian band named "P.E.P.E." and the original release of the record had a picture of a frog on it. So that is the Kekistani national anthem. I personally thought triggering liberals was funny for a while but nowadays when I'm fighting with my sister because she's posting literal slander from CNN articles on facebook I'm sorta getting tired of it. The backlash of them being "triggered" is too damn much, and you can see it everywhere, especially on social media/forums like these.
