Curt Schilling was told multiple times to stop talking about political stuff. After refusing to do so despite being told MULTIPLE times, he was fired.
I'm sure Jemele will probably be told similarly to tone it down with the political stuff, but to my knowledge she hasn't yet been told multiple times to tone it down and then continued to do so anyway. It's not the same so stop pretending it is. |

After being warned by ESPN several times to stop trolling on Twitter, Curt Schilling posted a picture of a fat man in women's clothing with the chest cut out to expose his breasts, and the caption was something like “LET HIM IN! to the restroom with your daughter or else you’re a narrow-minded, judgmental, unloving racist bigot who needs to die." and then he posted “A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.” This was in addition to Schilling posting a meme during the LLWS that said "It's said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940 only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?" Then after a company-wide email asking their employees to stop with the political posts, he posted that presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should be "buried under a jail somewhere." A month later, he made the transgender posts. He was fired. Jemele Hill posted on Twitter "Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists." I think that's the first time she had posted anything to that degree. She got publicly scolded by ESPN, but not fired. |

This is the same woman who wrote "Rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim.” She got suspended by ESPN instead of being fired. If a white man said the consequences would be different. But we know why she keep getting chances.
She's a closet racists and has been embolden by Hillary Clinton's victimhood. ESPN distanced themselves from tweets by both, but only one was fired.

ESPN can do whatever it likes. It is a private company. Unless it's publically traded. Idk. They make it clear they are more left leaning. They're owned by Disney after all. So naturally their leash is shorter with right wingers. Is it right? Who knows. It certainly is hypocritical. But it's their company.
But when they are losing subscribers at a rate that doesn't correspond with the drop of cable subscribers. Then maybe they have their answer as far as people getting tired of people pushing narratives.
