Why do people loot during crisis' in the US? Japanese never do this.

I have lived through terrible earthquakes, landslides, floods and typhoons in Japan. But I have never heard of the Japanese looting during these natural disasters.

Former governor of Japan Ishihara once said that one day Japan will need to get the army to shoot foreigners looting in a natural disaster

But is he right? We've just heard news of looters in America. Why do this? Why do some folks in America loot during a time a national crisis? You should be banding together, supporting one another, sharing what you have to survive. Not looting. It would be unthinkable for someone in Japan to do this.

Seriously, what is it in the culture that creates people who think looting in a crisis is fine?

Friends,

Because Americans are Greedy, they feel they are Entitled.

They are spoiled has have many thing given to them,,, the more you have, the MORE you want.

they feel they can get AWAY with it. so there moral compass is only 'worried about getting CAUGHT"

I would think its also a small percentage of the population that does this.. but its BIG news. And its CITY folk.

I cannot answer your question. I have never looted, and at this stage in my life, I would be more inclined to help people then to steal there stuff.

I don't know. Good luck.

Also, this. For all of the virtue signaling Americans like to do in the name of "social justice," we would really be happy if we could kill each other if given the opportunity. It truly is sad!

We are the greatest country in the world with a society of sociopaths, narcissists and self-absorbed citizens compared to other countries. I feel like it has been this way ever since 9/11 changed our country for the worse.

I would leave the United States and renounce my citizenship in a heartbeat if given the opportunity to relocate to a more civilized and community focused country like Japan.

More than 200,000 children were married in the US over the past 15 years, new figures have revealed.

Three 10-year-old girls and an 11-year-old boy were among the youngest to wed, under legal loopholes which allow minors to marry in certain circumstances.

The minimum age for marriage across most of the US is 18, but every state has exemptions – such as parental consent or pregnancy – which allow younger children to tie the knot.

In May, the high-profile Republican governor for New Jersey declined to sign into law a measure that would have made his state the first to ban child marriage without exception. Chris Christie claimed it would conflict with religious customs.

At least 207,468 minors married in the US between 2000 and 2015, according to data compiled by Unchained At Last, a group campaigning to abolish child marriage, and investigative documentary series Frontline.

The true figure is likely to be much higher because 10 states provided no or incomplete statistics.

Basically, it is drilled into you at a very young age. Things like being made to serve lunch at school, cleaning the school, or being in charge of running a club all build a sense of community. They really drill the concept of community in the education system. Conformity to the group is very important. Not in a fascist way as some people will no doubt rant on about in response to this. You are allowed to be who you want to be, but it's taught that there is a time and a place for such things, and when in a group that is not the time, especially if it effects the group.

I think also the fact that there is a hierarchy helps. Everyone knows their role and place and tries to avoid stepping on other's shoes.

They also really push community action too. Many towns and cities have a culture centre for people to go and help out.

Honest to God answer?

Americans are propagandized from birth to be insatiable, rampant consumers. Gotta buy buy buy 24/7.

In America, Appearances ARE Everything. Your social status is tied into what you wear, what you drive, the type of home you live in.

To have it better than the guy down the road. Even if it means going into crippling debt to do so.

So risking life and limb during a natural disaster or civil unrest to steal a new tv or pair of sneakers is done in order to raise ones social status.

TLDR version: “The more stuff you have = God and Society loves and Favors you.” Vs. “You’re penniless and poor = God and Society hates and despises you.”

Despite Heavy Losses Soros Keeps Betting Against U.S

Billionaire George Soros is continuing to bet against the U.S. stock market in the wake of President Donald Trump's election, insisting the economy will crash. His latest wager is $1.8 billion.

U.S. regulatory filings show George Soros is still investing in options that will profit him only if the stock market they are linked to declines in value. Soros Fund Management held put options on PowerShares QQQ Trust, SPDR S&P 500 ETF, iShares Russell 2000 ETF as of June 30. Each is an exchange-traded fund that tracks a broad US stock market index. The bet is worth $1.8 billion. Soros stands to profit only if the stock market falls. Michael Vachon, a spokesman for Soros Fund Management, said the company would not comment on the filing.

In January, Soros said "it's impossible to predict" President Donald Trump's actions, but he was nonetheless sure the market would plunge. Soon after the election, Soros lost over $1 billion by taking a short position on the market. While Soros called Trump a "would-be dictator," and predicted uncertainty and a sell-off after his win, the markets have rallied significantly. The S&P500 index is up over 10 percent this year, the Nasdaq is up 18 percent, and Dow Jones is up over 11 percent.

Soros is best known for making a fortune on his short play against the British pound. On Sept. 16, 1992, Soros' $10 billion short position on the pound forced the Bank of England to withdraw Sterling from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism after it was unable to keep the currency above its agreed lower limit in the ERM.
