I'm a YouTuber so i claimed lots of things as buiness expenses. My car, my office, my filming equipment and computers.
I've claimed lunches with other YouTubers as buiness lunches because that's what they are. Taxaudit.com is helping but they are telling me the IRs needs the details about what was discussed at these lunches in 2014 (i have no idea). They've requested receipts for equipment i bought that year and i don't have them. No one told me i needed to save them. I provided them with credit card statements and that's not enough. I feel like I'm being charged as guilty without a trial. I stand to owe them as much as 300k. I could lose most everything i own.

You only get audited if you claim itemized deductions like business expenses. (Generally)

Saving receipts is a good practices, because you should double check your credit card bill to make sure there are no random charges.
