I’ve been out of the loop since Mania weekend, but holy shit. It seems like every other WWE PPV is being held there. And what’s with this Evolution PPV? Is this WWE’s way of apologizing to their women workers for shunning them in front of their new Arabic overlords?

Regardless, they’re really pulling all the stops to please their new overlords. HBK is really coming out of retirement? Seriously?

Believe what? Saudi Arabia isn’t some imaginary place, bro. WWE is really going there.

I know, big loss, but if I hear any propaganda from WWE during this event, I'm done. No more network, no games, no shows, nothing until they stop this arrangement.

If the Turkish allegations about the journalist being murdered and dismembered are true, WWE is gonna find itself in a position where they might be forced to terminate their business arrangement with KSA (for PR purposes obviously)

They throw a huge wad of money at WWE. These same Saudi nobles buy Super Cars like it's going out of style, drive them once, and leave them out in the desert to rot.
I don't get why they didn't do this with someplace like UAE or Qatar. Not that those are bastions of Democracy either, but they certainly don't have the baggage of KSA.

It makes sense. The Saudi's don't own WWE but whatever the Saudi's want with WWE, they'll do it like keep Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement for one more match. Even HBK bought in for $$$ if he's coming out of retirement for one more match.

The Saudi show also proves that the WWE Evolution show is nothing more than a road to Crown Jewel. It's like one of those New Japan road to shows building towards a big show.

That journalist being killed by the Saudis is a terrifying story.

Yeah SA is bad compared to the US but they are modernising slowly. You might not agree with everything they do. I don’t. But it’s a really difficult balance keeping all the different religious sides happy and any change to modernise SA is going to be measured in decades and generations and not years. It might be a small step but it is still a step and it’s a step in the right direction.

Well, multiple sources are saying due to the missing journalist story spiralling out of control that the pressure is on for WWE to suspend or cancel their events. It's a difficult situation with the amount of money on the line, including the billions Saudi has given to the US for weapons, etc.

Improving? They've been literally committing genocide in Yemen for years now (using weapons provided to them by the US and UK, mind you) and have been jailing and executing any citizens who dare to criticize the government. They aren't actually progressive at all, that's just propaganda they feed people to try to distract from the atrocities and other shady shit they continue to perpetuate.

That's stupid. It's not even about making money, it's about almost every facet of our entire infrastructure and culture being able to function. Want to get out from under the Saudi thumb? Wait a couple of decades or drastically reduce the use of foreign oil. That's not just a U.S. issue, either, but literally every major country in the world.

WWE "monitoring the situation" is ridiculous. The most recent report is WWE will continue to provide propaganda for MBS and the Saudi government until the US imposes sanctions that prevent it from doing so. Absolutely deplorable. What's sadder is, Vince made it such a part of his character that he wouldn't "sell out" to bigger, richer people. Yet in old age, he's done just that.

I think the backlash against WWE should continue. I think this should be one of the biggest black stains on the company in its history. Money isn't everything.

Does anyone know enough about Goebbels to say how he'd book WrestleMania? I suspect it would be very pro-Trump. Someone Aryan would be world champion -- maybe Drew McIntyre? Rollins and Reigns would both lose because the former is Armenian and the latter is Samoan.

Might as well just accept now that the Saudis can own whatever the fuck they want because of their oil. If the Prince wants Vince to bring every event to KSA, Vince will say "Yes, your highness".
I read an article on Kotaku that Saudi Arabia is paying WWE up to, if not more than 50 million dollars for each one of these big shows they put on. IDK if that number is legit but I have read other articles leading up to this partnership that WWE was going to make tons and tons of money from it.

I can't see Vince McMahon or anyone for that matter turning down that much money to put on a show.

I didn't watch GGR and don't even have the WWE network anymore. But it seems WWE is pushing some agenda when they do these shows about how great Saudia Arabia is or something. Just something I gather from people's post who have watched GGR.
