Too bad. Soon every company is gonna get their own streaming service and you'll by paying like two cable bills worth of money to watch TV.
We just canceled our DirecTV today.

99% of all our TV viewing is Netflix anyway. As soon as GoT was over we didn't really have a justifiable reason to even keep it.

Hulu is a joint venture owned by ABC, NBC and Fox. there is no way Netflix could ever buy them. the other way around would be more likely

This is basically the future, sooner or later almost every company is going to have their own streaming service, it's inevitable the moment Netflix streaming service was a success.

I think Netflix and Hulu are fine separated. The issue is that every network wants their own service and is pulling their stuff from services like Hulu or Netflix to get people on to their own service.

Well maybe if people stopped buying subscriptions, they'd realize it ain't profitable and dissolve it

Why does Netflix, the largest of the five streaming services, not just eat the other ones?

*checks stock at $170+ a share*
Seems most of their investors do. But I guess they don't have duranoftroll who is upset over something so he read an article about how Netflix is spending money on itself so they can survive on original content as more companies, like Disney, want to start their own services.

Same. My dad has Hulu (no commercials even) and my mom has Netflix, so I only pay for the Network. Also use my friends Plex/Raspberry Pi for movies and shows that aren't on either.

You realize that even if they merged or were bought out by one another that the price would either go up or content would get cut right?
