 He has done 9 reviews this year. Everything else is garbage movie reviews or garbage let's play streams and some E3 stuff. I can't wait for him to be erased from the internet like DSP, what a fucking disappointment cause I actually liked his reviews.

That's not to say I'm irreplaceable, but it'll take quite a while to bring the replacement up to speed and even then they need the knowledge that I have to be as effective as me. That's not worth it to the employer for a two month break. My lifestyle is plenty scaled back, otherwise I wouldn't be debt-free with a paid-off house and car and healthy savings. I'd gladly give up a portion of my wages to work fewer days, but there are very few employers that would do that. Perhaps I should go into consulting, but I'm just not ready for a move like that yet.

It's funny because he has that freedom and you don't and you're mad about it. :P Will never understand the hate for YouTubers, even ones I don't like. Video editing, acting, script writing, marketing, etc. It is a job. And if you're a one-man show, it is many jobs. As for Angry Joe, he really has slipped on his game reviews and it's annoying, but I side with people who want to be their own boss as someone who comes from a family of merchants who owned their own businesses (grandparents owned an antique store, parents owned their own pizza place, mom is a 7-Eleven franchisee now, my brother just started a nonprofit to feed the homeless in Charlotte, NC). I hope to one day have the freedom my parents have. If he's taking two months' vacation, he's either good with his money or really stupid (if he can't afford it). But that's the double-edged sword of running your own business. All the success is yours, but so is all the failure.

I haven't, and am not going to watch it, but Good God. All he's done this year is complain about how busy he is with doing things for his channel which has kept him from doing things on his channel.
I can only conclude that he just wants to make excuses to avoid having to do anything at all ever. It's like JonTron minus the controversy. I have no love lost for these people who pretty much never put out any content, while we've got others who seem to be capable of putting out decent content at the bare minimum of once a month, which is kind of too hard for some of them. Most do it at least once a week. Some do it twice a week. I get that it's not easy, but Jesus fucking Christ. All he's going to do is lose subs, which I imagine he's drained this year anyways due to the lack of "real" content.

They're not necessarily in a better position. What people bash youtubers is the fact that because their employers are advertisers, the best way to make money is to be an attention whore. I unsubscribed from Joe after his Trump "outrage". But that wasn't exactly the reason. He was hardly doing video game reviews and he tries shove white guilt into you. He said he would be changing to make more reviews but I suppose that was nonsense. It's strange to me that he still has millions of subs.
I really used to like Angry Joe. I found his bi-monthly reviews great to watch. Now, he's just lazy.

How do these youtubers that previously are known for being big but hardly put out any content for several months live? Are they really just that good with money? I enjoyed JonTron's videos but he hardly ever makes new videos.
EDIT: I do admit I find this boards seething hate for gaming youtubers ridiculous. Bringing up gaming youtubers on NGG is like bringing up anything that's not PC on NeoGAF.

This topic is about the decline of one of biggest gaming YouTubers. His fans (and ex fans) are mad as hell that he keeps claiming that he's too busy and too overwhelmed when he's not putting out any content. And after a solid year of doing half assed work he claims he has not had a vacation in 10 years (which is a lie, he literally had one 6 months ago). Two freaking months of vacations for a guy that does 1 review a month (IE actual content people care about). Anyways if you don't wanna participate in the conversation, door is that way>>. I'm done replying to you. This is not being 'jelly' this is fans watching a train wreck in slow motion and knowing they can't do anything to stop him from ruining all the good will he built over the last half decade :(

On topic: I do have to question how much work Joe actually does. There are some youtubers who put up 6 hours of content everyday. Joe, on the other hand, doesn't seem to upload that much content. It's okay to think it's stupid how much some people get paid for what they do, everyone is entitled to their opinion. What drives me nuts is how salty people get when someone pursues an interest they have and makes money off of it instead of working a job they dislike just to say they 'have a job.' I mean we all know if we could do work relating to video games and get paid for it, we'd do the same thing the majority of the time. So what's wrong with Joe doing it, or anyone else?
Game reviews, let's play footage, etc. are valuable tools for consumers to know what's worth a damn to buy, what might be worth it during a sale, and what we should let rot in the garbage bin. Most people wouldn't care if he had just said he wanted to avoid burn out, or something like that, rather than acting like he's overworked when he barely puts out content.
If he legitimately has legitimate 80 hour work weeks, I wonder just exactly what the hell he's doing with his time, because people seem to work less than that and put out more frequent and lengthy content. Kinda this. I mean he is on track to put out the same number of angry reviews that he usually does. They are big production videos let the guy take his break from them and return strong and re vitalized in September. I don't really watch much of his other content either but there are sooo many other channels to watch in the meantime. I think both sides are wrong on this, the subs (even if it's just a minority of subs) for going ape shit and Joe for just the way he handled the announcement.
