I am a single father of a 15 year old son that I had with my (then) wife. She is not involved in my son's life in any way and has not been present for over 10 years, I don't know where she is.
My son has just began his sophomore year of high school. He's always been kind of a quiet kid, very reserved and shy. As he went through puberty, he began to take an interested in dressing "emo" and taking up that culture, which is totally fine by me. He has friends and does well in school and seems to be emotionally healthy, which is all I care about - his happiness.
Anyway, he had been acting a little strange lately, for the past 2 or 3 months or so. A couple weeks ago, I was woken up to a dog barking outside, and when I pulled the blinds down, I saw that it was my son. I just chuckled to myself and thought he was just being a teenager. A couple days after that, I went into his room and caught him chewing on a dog toy, which he quickly hid behind him when I opened the door. I thought that was a bit strange, so when I asked him what he was doing, his face turned red and he said he was just "messing around". Okay.
Well yesterday evening, he got home from school and asked if he could talk to me. He sat me down and came out to me as what he called an "other-kin". When I questioned him more, he told me that he felt inside that he was meant to be a dog. He explained that it was a lot like being transgender, but more like trans-species. Obviously, I was taken aback but I just kept quiet and nodded while he explained.
He then asked if I would start calling him "Spike" and if I would be willing to legally change his name to that. He also told me that he has a collar and a tail and wanted to ask my permission if he could start wearing these regularly. I didn't know what to say, so I told him to give me a bit of time to take this all in. He agreed and went up to his room for the rest of the night, except for dinner which went pretty normally. I'm at work now and I'm still kind of at a loss for what to do. Does anyone have any insight? How should I respond?
do you own or rent your house? if you rent make sure your lease allows you to have large breed dogs (since im sure hes over 100 pounds at 15). if you own, you may be restricted on the type of breed he can identify with. these breeds are commonly not covered by insurance, so if he bites someone you have absolute liability:

Staffordshire Terriers
Rottweilers
German Shepherds
Presa Canarios
Chows Chows
Doberman Pinschers
Akitas
Wolf-hybrids
Mastiffs
Cane Corsos
Great Danes
Alaskan Malamutes
Siberian Huskies
otherwise just keep him up on his shots, walk him at least once a day and properly socialize him with other dogs
Beat his ass with the leash, then tell him to straighten up and get laid. Call him a faggot, too.

Don't let him on the furniture. Whenever he talks tell him to quit barking. No chocolate, but eat some yourself. Beat him with a newspaper.
ReplyDeleteWhen dinner is ready tell him to go lay down sternly.
tell him transgenderism is clinically supported psychosis and doesn't exist. Choosing to become something is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 14 I wanted to change my name to fireball since I believed I was a fire mage.
It's literally just weeb teenage phases, except this is facilitated and encouraged not only by psychiatrists but by echochambers on the internet.

therefore women are a form of entertainment like all other forms of entertainment? An option for passing time and they are not necessary. Loneliness stems from an incorrect assumption on how one ought to live/spend_time/self_entertain.
