Well its difficult to say what exactly kind of metadata will actually be stored, I'm making a simple webapp you can learn running while you browse to make requests to hundreds of websites continuously. Maybe just each websites xml page so it uses hardly any bandwidth for the individual
As far as I know what time you visited a website and how long you were there will be recorded, thousands of pointless entries will flood it

>>

Doesn't matter. All the entries will go into giant databases and algos will find trends.
>>
>>645945477
I haven't finished but I'll make a thread tomorrow with it, it'll just be a site that will cycles through websites xml pages at a crazy speed = no download necessary. Like stumbleupon

started selectively piping traffic through a vpn to norway months ago anon. Last I heard no ISPs are actually read to start recording metadata and turnbull was still spouting vague threats rather than actual consequences for any ISPs that refused to comply.
not worried yet.
>>645945313
you're describing a 'chaff' system, which aren't exactly new: https://github.com/gadeleon/chaff/blob/master/chaff.py
The problems are:
-It's usually pretty simple to separate real traffic from the generated traffic.
-you're still visiting whatever the fuck you're visiting. If you don't want to be seen to go on 4chan, throwing up 5000 wikipedia requests wont help - you're still showing up when they search for people who visit 4chan.
-Telstra runs huge fucking databases for a living, your home coded webcrawler is not going to knock them offline.

>Data Retention Scheme begins tomorrow.
Metadata has been retained by phone companies since day 1. How else do they do their billing?
The police have been able to access phone records all along.
So have reporters.
The difference now is that there will be a regulatory framework around it. Phone companies will have rules on who can request records and how long the records must be kept.
The old Keep Gay Whales in the Ground mob will be running around like headless chooks but for most of us nothing will change.

Please. Go live in a completely 'free' society.

That's the fucking dumbest thing I have ever read.
Liberty - the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's behaviour or political views.
WTF free society.. It's not your liberty right to be able to murder someone, but it is your liberty right to not fucking living in a oppressed dictatorship where you're a slave and have no say in anything that happens in your country.

>>645953307
can i still torrent regular porn?
>>
>>645954338
Actually he doesn't really blow it out of proportion. It's a perfectly valid argument when discussing the framework of societies. The beginning is that in nature we are lawless, so we have laws to protect ourselves from each other. Those laws are a restriction on liberty, but they are freeing as well, because they allow us to move around with the knowledge that we will not be assaulted or have our shit stolen. THis metadata law is supposed to protect us from whom? THis the crux of the dissent with this law, that we don't knwo who it's protecting us from, that it targets ourselves and assumes that we've done some relevant act that breaks a law or imposes a threat on individual security somehow. THe opposition is that none of those exists, and that it is an arbitrary law, restricting individual freedom while protecting nobody.

Gun laws are the best thing that happened to us actually. I believe weapon's should not be put under the 'freedom' rule. Guns only have the potential to harm others, drugs however should be legalized as they only have the potential to harm the user. Remember, heroin junkies only get voilent when they haven't got their fix.. and many hope to not be named a criminal if they seek help.

I haven't exactly looked into the whole gun debate, you probably have a point but I would imagine anyone could obtain a weapon with some sort of permit - nothing to do with wealth.

I was attempting to argue that stopping isis murdering the offenders is restricting their political views/liberty. Which is hardly a bad thing. Liberty should definitely be restricted there.
It was poorly worded I admit.

because you're 12 years old and still believe people can be intrinsically good or bad, that 99% of crime isn't committed in the moment or because of socioeconomic conditions. because you're weak and couldn't stop someone from hurting you or your family. lots of reasons, pick the one that gets you maddest and then harden your ideology so no one can poke holes in it and you'll be nice and safe until you die. alone. like everyone. you fucking faggot.

Private Internet Access.
Make throwaway email, pay for subscription with bitcoin.
They have torrent protocols. They keep no logs.
They have several worldwide exits that you can choose from. I personally like to use the one in Toronto, canada.
It will slow your download speed a little, because it relays between you and the exit. Don't set your exit IP to any australian one, or you've basically gotten a VPN for nothing.
There is even an app for android devices, and you can enter your VPN credentials in iOS settings if you use iphone.

Again, I think this scheme is retarded.
I'm arguing that voting no to this scheme simply because muh liberty is even more retarded.
My argument was attempting to outline that if we based all our decisions on whether it not it restricts liberty, we'd have isis free to murder everyone.
I completely agree that monitering metadata is a breach of privacy that outweighs the possible protection it gives us.
That's a reason to vote no.
"muh liberty" is not a reason to vote no. Its a catchphrase used by idiots who don't deserve the liberty they have.
>>
>>645957388
of course it is idiot. what is wrong with your brain? is the idea that people behave when they know they're being watched foreign to you? moreover, if your pathetic ass was being raped wouldn't you want a camera nearby, just so you've got something to jack it to later (or maybe even use as evidence in court later).
