71 y/o Jerry Guerinot from Texas is finally quitting his job after the people whom he represented his whole life, which were ALL on DEATH PENALTY charges, and LOST THEM ALL!!
He's been a lawyer for 4 decades and death penalty opponents have called him the WORST LAWYER in the United States
But he disagrees and said "My theory is if they are the sorriest of he worst or the very worst, i got'em. Somebody's got to defend, defend is the wrong word, represent these people"
He's represented gang members, serial killers, sociopaths from the most worst kind and his losing streak sent them all to the chair..
But David Dow slammed him and said "He doesn't even pick the low-hanging fruit which is hitting him in the head as he's walking under the tree"
Jim Marcus of the Capital Punishment clinic accused him of failing to properly representing these clients..such as in 1996 when he represented 4 people that year, all were sent to death in a 7 month period
Jim now represents Anthony Medina who said Jerry gave little trial prepartion and inadequaes of questioning of witnesses.
Jerry maintains he rushed cases to get a paycheque as records show over 21 clients he's represented, all are getting death and 10 have already been executed..except 2 who were under 18 at the time and get life in prison
Some of his clients, including british woman, Linda Carty is getting a new trial as she can't bare to utter Jerry's name who said Jerry didn't even care about her case and only met her a month before their trial.
Jerry has said that many of these people who were executed got what they deserved and he is shocked by the outrage of some people..
