"losing your money via penny stocks on your phone app"

yeah, yeah, it starts with YOU sending the money to ME

$22k is a large amount. I'd consult a few lawyers and see what they say. I'd definitely go the fraud route and get an investigation going as well. Spread it to their higher ups and s***.

I've been screwed over before, similarly, but it didn't cost that much.

I had a staph infection and I started bleeding from the belly button area and was very painful. Obviously I freaked and drove to an ER at like 1AM. I had gone to my college health center in the morning that day and the doctor there said it looked like a hernia and that if I felt too much pain, to go to the ER.

At the ER, they didn't even have room for my bed. They put me next to the receptionists. Doc comes, looks at the stomach, says it's staph/skin infection, tells me I need antibiotics and leaves. All in 2-3 minutes. Then a nurse is all like "you need a CT scan, and you gotta drink this" and made me wait till like 6 AM to get it done.

8 months go by and I get a call from a collection agency telling me I owe $900. I never even got a bill. I get a report from insurance and it says that they covered the like $2k for the stay and scan and s***. But that the doctor was not in my network so they didn't pay him. Like how was I even supposed to know? Motherf***er charged me $900 to talk to me for 2-3 minutes.

I went to the hospital recently. Started having a bad pain in my side, thought I pulled a muscle and that it'd go away shortly. Hour and a half later it was still there and was getting worse, felt like I was stabbed and the knife was being spun over and over so I head to the hospital, and I have insurance. Get a CT scan done and it turns out I have kidney stones. Was wack but I was relieved since I knew I wasn't kickin the bucket and the doctor prescribed me some painkillers and told me I'd be leaving shortly.

Comes back a few mins later and said the radiologist said my appendix looks large and concerning so he feels my appendix area to see if I feel any pain, I don't, but they want to do another CT scan and have me drink some drink that is supposed to help it be more accurate. This nurse lady told me it's bad to get so much radiation in a short time span while taking me to do the second one, looking back this pisses me off because I am positive they did this for money. After the second scan they say I'm gonna be admitted and because I possibly need surgery or prescribed antibiotics to take care of it, they need to admit me to monitor my appendix and have surgeons decide what would be best in the morning. I've honestly never had an issue like this before, haven't dealt with hospitals much and I was worried about being alive and I thought they were looking out for me.

I went to this hospitals separate ER building, when you get admitted you go to their main hospital, I was admitted at about 2 am. Had to ride in an ambulance, they said if I went myself I'd have to start the entire process from the beginning if I didn't. Wonder if they just wanted to charge me for the ambulance ride. So I get there, meet my nurse and try to get some sleep. Doctor checks my appendix in the morning, says seems fine and he needs to see what the surgeons say but he thinks I'll be discharged and should be out by 2 or 5pm cant remember which, that day.

I dunno if this is standard hospital routine, wasn't familiar with any of this at all, but I was under the impression he'd come back to give me an update and/ release me or tell me I will be released soon, I later learned he does rounds once a day, or at least on the weekends maybe, which is when I was there. Throughout that first day I was admitted, I had numerous people (who I'm sure were paid for each visit) come in and check my appendix and I was always fine and then I started feeling weird about things. The next day, that same doctor comes in and gives me the same bulls*** about the surgeons and is obviously trying to make his visit with me as short as possible. Tells me I'll be out soon.

After it becomes clear that they are f***ing with me, I start calling people in to question what is going on, and my family and girl start calling the hospital doing the same. Every 6 hours my nurse would change and the current nurse told my family, "he'll be out today, whether its at 5 or at 10 what difference does it make." And she lied to my mom saying the doctor is making his rounds right now to get us off her back, and made it sound like I'd be released when he does. I saw the doctor that morning already. Asked if the doctor was making rounds when I saw her and she tells me no he's made his rounds for the day. After tellin her this is bulls*** and if they've been f***ing with me they won't be getting paid I was discharged about 30 mins later. Letter from my insurance saying they will not cover the 22,000 dollar bill, because it all looks like some bulls*** I am sure. I can try to appeal that decision but I don't expect it to work.

What do you guys think my chances would be if I were to take this to court, if things go that far? I have great credit but I'd rather not pay and ruin it than give them a cent after they f***ed me over if it comes down to it. I currently plan to fight this as much as possible first. I've never had a health scare at all, I was worried and it really angers me that I was taken advantage of over this for money.
