The real people who get "conned" are the people who get hired/ work there for awhile. As for the product In my opinion I believe it works, is it worth the 7000 -10000 price range? Probably not. It's not for me to say that's up to the buyer. Working for this company you really notice how the pay range could be considered slave pay. It's very easy for someone to go broke having to not to be paid at least a little bit of gas money or having to spend money on food for "road trips" (going to places like Tillsonsburg). The phone staff is also under paid and if you aren't in the office inner-circle it's very hard to work there. You can get easily sucked into the gang / wolf of wall street mentality that comes with the environment. I found myself defending the company with people in my personal life.
The bread and butter of the business of course is the friend/family weekend the new recruits have. With any direct sales gig sales can be hard for the majority, despite what they will tell you. Answer yourself this, does Nike come to your door to sell you shoes? Appointments were set-up through promotional cards, everyone wins the same prize or if they buy you could switch it for a number of different prizes tvs, xboxes, trips etc. The "Salary" is promoted as 18 dollars an hour but, after you start working for them it's 36.90 an appointment. Then if you're good you can go on full commission which is 10%. Sounds good but, if you sell someone with bad credit then they are only going to get approved on high interest which means you make peanuts on 3+ hours of hard work. There are a few people working there that have made a very good living on it I have to admit but, that could be any job. The work hours take up a lot of your life and a former manager used to guilt us into working on Saturdays claiming "we have so many appointments we don't have the time for all of them". In reality you'd be sitting at a tim hortons waiting forever until you get the call from the assistant manager saying "sorry everyone cancelled, I dont know what's going on". I remember being told "we never work weekends here" Working there is pretty much a popularity contest, if they don't like you they drop you like Dre drops beats.
The people running the business appear to have some mental issues. For example the "corporate trainer" is a pathological liar that can't help himself to lie with every sentence he spits out (personal lies). He also thinks he's 10 years older than what he is and try's to talk to people no matter what their age about life because "he's been through some [***]". I am also surprised he's never been charged with sexual harassment, it is well known he hits on every good-looking female that walks in here, but there is a dark rumour floating around about him and an ex-female employee that is boarder-line Bill Cosby Territory (not going to say, it could be slander). Apparently he has a girlfriend now and surprise she's an ex-employee, I feel sorry for her she probably doesn't know him.
The Manager has been there a long time but, mostly in the field. I heard rumours he could be every rude to customers for example telling customers to "[***] off or [***] you". I also heard a nasty rumour that he and another employee sold a blind lady thinking that she was replacing her hot water heater, her neighbor came to her rescue (again rumours). I once seen him call an ex-employee retarded for a disagreement they had (that's how a manager should talk haha) It seems he has a hard time keeping it professional as a manager. He also likes to scoop-up female employees and has a "put-a-ring-on" mentality in the first month of dating.
The CEO I wouldn't have nothing to say about him because he's really generous and a nice guy. Then I heard he was against awarding at least a $100 dollars for if a deal is not approved or cancelled the next day. The idea behind this was "hey at least they did their job and got pen to paper". Also giving a gas allowance was bought to the table, and yes the CEO was against that too. I don't have any idea why he would be against this, there is only speculation.
If you read this far, thank you for your time. What I hope you get out of this is that you make up your own mind. I know it might seem laughable after saying that because it's all negative mostly however I did learn some things. I learned a lot about sales, which opened other opportunities. My social skills greatly improved, I can basically start a conversation with anyone. I also got to travel throughout the London outskirts of Ontario. So you plan on working for them good luck if not like I said hopefully you made up your own mind.
