Trump Confidence/Self Esteem

8 hours ago#5

Ah now hang on a second. Self esteem in itself cannot be a bad thing. People who are told they're no good are one of the prime groups that are exploited.

People are entitled to healthy food, water, television and a safe place to sleep at night no matter what happens. You can't demand things from people and expect them to follow society's rules while forcibly preventing them from getting food and information.

The less well off in society are always being punished and abused by their overlords in today's society. It's done in a passive aggressive way, they don't get their hands dirty by directly being mean themselves so they just put extreme pressure on people already crippled by a bad life and with no way out. It's hands-off exploitation.

Don't try to shoehorn that in with googoo gaga transgender-style nonsense.

Before we start trashing early childhood education let's set something straight here:

Self esteem is important to child development, but that doesn't mean that educational standards demand children be free from the consequences of their choices. Now, some parents have a different idea and think children should be protected from consequences so they aren't set back, which is obviously wrong because children learn nothing.

Why is the self-esteem movement a thing? Well parents want to be better than their parents so they have flashbacks to consequences that may have been harsh a generation or two ago, so they don't want that to happen to their child. It's misguided and hurts more than helps the child.
