They deserve torture within an inch of their life, for as long as they can be kept alive! Honestly they deserve much more than that, but that's the most we can mortally make them pay for all of the families, lives, and happiness they have destroyed! But of course our society is too "humane" to do this. They'd rather have them sit quietly in a cell, or use the death penalty through "painless" means |
1) We have a law against cruel and unusual punishment
2) Torture...actually doesn't do much of anything beneficial. We've seen throughout the entire Iraq war that torturing people for information just gives false leads. People just say whatever you want to hear, even if it is fake. All our good information came when we were nice to people. So really the entire concept of torture is just for your own personal satisfaction and not for any actual strategic advantage.

Let’s think of painful methods of torture in this topic.
Take a nail and stick it underneath the person’s big toe. Then hammer it in. Take a dagger. Soak it in salt and lemon juice. Stab person anywhere.
You don't need to stop sinning before coming to Jesus. Come to Jesus with your sins and you will see your life change.

Let’s think of painful methods of torture in this topic. Personally, i still think the most painful torture is death by burning. Ofc, i dont expect any answers from people who are set on fire, so if its information you are after, you can rule this one out.

Kinda like the old days when people were hanged along that bridge in London to send a message. "You massacre people, this is what you get" |

There is a problem with that kind of thinking. You think it would "persuade" people to not do crimes, but it doesnt work like that. We have higher crime rates than many countries, despite the fact that our justice system is harsher than most of them.

Prison is a reward for these kinds of people. Pretty understandable and relatable imo that he feels that way. Maybe you should get off your high horse.

No, because then you fall into the vengeance category.
I support the death penalty for very extreme scenarios and he's definitely one I would have wanted executed. But not by torture.

First of all, let me just say f*** you for your stupid f***ing bait and switch poll with a question that is the reverse of the topic title.
And the answer is torture is always wrong. And in this case is completely pointless. Torture doesn't even work anyways so it's ALWAYS pointless, but there is no useful intel to acquire here even if it did work, the guy was a lone wolf.

Psychological benefit for people like me and the victims that would love to see people like paddock PAY! It wouldn't be any particular benefit to the victims' families. Contrary to popular belief, the families of murder victims are not sexual deviants or bloodlusting animals. And if they were, that doesn't mean we should indulge them. As for you, I recommend putting more effort into controlling your bizarre fetishes.

But of course our society is too "humane" to do this. They'd rather have them sit quietly in a cell, or use the death penalty through "painless" means Do you know why? Because people who suggest such remedies, those that are peaceful and "humane" as you so like to sardonically dub it, don't suffer from the painful torment experienced in the lives of people who mass murder others. Those people aren't "humane" because they suffer deeply within. They lash out and make others suffer for their inner suffering. They need help and the ability to talk to others about their problems, and warn others of their coming bottled up pain. They need to come out and confess of these things before they do them, and those that do not should be studied to figure out why they do not. Or we can just take your "inhumane" approach and f***ing torture them potentially to death until they tell us more about themselves, LMAOOO. I mean, get a clue. Learn science.

The reason to do this would be for retribution. To make mass murderers feel what what they made others feel.SkuIItuIakid posted...Kind of like the death penalty. Chosen for specific extreme cases like this
