Basically it has really brought a lot of focus on the kind of people that we have running these gaming communities, who have been trying to influence everything from the shadows with their control over everything.

Only a matter of time before Anita Sarkeesian lambasts all of gaming again for being the bastion of misogyny and cashing off the gullible media puppets.

Well gaming communities have a real problem, and the culture at the top of their order is being blasted on full display right now.

Go tell it to Bill O'Reilly, Anita. Nobody here cares about corner cases suddenly somehow becoming everyone.

Everybody is running a gaming community?

News to me.

Not really that big of a surprise. Gamefaqs loves it's racist mod staff, wouldn't be that large of a surprise if it had some sexual predators as well.

Oh for sure, you can just tell how there is this whole fucked up culture at the top order of all these gaming community sites. This has really shined a light on how bad it can get.

What if CJayC left GameFAQs to become the mastermind of the cabal?

Definitely, and this NeoGAF situation shows off how bad it can get when people keep ignoring it.

It's about time people woke up and finally took notice of the kind of people running these shit shows.

I think it shines a light more on male feminists than it does people who run gaming websites.

Yeah the feminist message really undermines actual equality, but it's not like feminists give a shit about that.

Not really, the culture behind people running these sites is clearly what allowed that to manifest.

It's not gaming communities. It's communities in general.
No one honestly think this is purely an industry and it's audience problem, surely?

Well there is a whole culture with the people who run gaming communities that has a lot to do with this.

Can't say I was ever really aware of the problems with gaming culture, but I always very much distanced myself from the gamergate weirdos and that type of shit. I really couldn't care what light this sheds or what anita whatever says, it's all completely inconsequential

I mean, it's not like NeoGAF being a fascist hole that would ban you for the slightest dissenting opinion is new.

That is what I mean. There is an entire culture at the top of these gaming community sites where everyone scratches each other back and turns a blind eye, only to be complete assholes who everyone who isn't a part of their management/moderating clique.

It is no surprise how people like that go out in the real world with no sense of what is right or wrong.
