This is the situation: the mods mostly use a black and white modding criteria. If it fits the criteria, it simply gets modded. They're volunteers and they've been doing it a long ass time and they can't afford to look over every moderation with the care and consideration of Judge Judy. Because they don't get paid and none of this stuff actually matters that much as to truly justify expending their personal time on such trivialities. That's the ultimate truth.

I grew up the exact same way. Yet I somehow retained an ability called "common sense". All of us agreed to the ToU and ToS when signing up for the site. Yes, some moderations are bulls*** and some are just unfathomable on a personal level. I got modded a while back for posting a pic of my new shirt. It had the Batsymbol on it but the tail is changed to look like a penis. Got me a 3KL for "offensive". I thought to myself: "Seriously? Someone got offended enough to mark it and a mod agreed? Bulls***!" Then my common sense kicked in, I realized that I am on a video game website and accepted the moderation as I am not going to lose sleep over something as trivial as an arbitrary point system on a video game website.

The only problem is when users are attempting to adjust to the rules. That's the only argument against that can be made. Since users also tend to create off-usermap alts though there can't be exceptions.

I'd say right now there is more conservative themed troll accounts than liberal ones due to Trump winning, but both sides get modded. Generally when you go towards generalizations it becomes a problem. Such as implying all liberals hate white people or that all conservatives hate black people. Stuff like that is a problem on both sides.

Maybe I just don't read into it enough, but honestly I don't see too many conservatives trolls around here, mostly I see users trying to supress opinions and create an echo chamber, and others getting frustrated. It would be impossible to give examples of every possible way a user could break the rules. That is why we have the rules defined, give some examples, and leave the rest to common sense. This system isn't hard for 90+% of the users to figure out. Dunno why the rest have so much trouble with it... We're just ignoring that 98% of users have no problem avoiding regular suspensions and bans in the current system, and that those who are significantly affected by the current policy are an extreme outlier? Let me put it this way. I've been on this site for a very long time and can never recall an instance where someone was suspended and I thought, "Boy, that's surprising!". In your little bubble this is a problem, but rest assured most people can stay within complex guidelines like "Don't say something for the express purpose of offending or insulting them".
