- Study shows 92% of millennials can't change a tire

Probably the worst moment ever was when I was 16 and we had to change a truck tyre using a forklift. I had this terrible premonition someone was going to die that day
I live in a big house and it's handy to have a pair of running shoes so that it doesn't take me forever to get from one area of the house to another.

I was taught to first unloosen while the car is on the ground, then jack it up, then complete the removal process, change tire, put on nuts but don't fully tighten, then lower car completely, then finally tighten.
Basically you want the tire on the ground when you put lots of pressure on tightening or loosening, because it's more stable. The car in this video was wobbling all over the place.spanky1 posted...HypnoCoosh posted...

Exactly.

All these studies are BS
If millennials don't have these skills it's because Mom and Dad didn't bother to teach them and instead just left them in front of the TV babysitter all day
Dude. It's changing a tire it's not f***ing rocket science.
It's laziness and incompetence. Nothing more.
Lol ok whatever you say grandpa
Im.sure most people just learn all skills on there own
I was lucky enough to have my dad show me. But I doubt most people can just look at a tire and know how to change it the right way
Literally basic brain functioning people can change a tire. If you can't you are lazy or incompetent.
That's true...
After someone teaches you
It's not exactly something you do every dayLOL @ acting like changing a tire couldn't be done by a chimpanzee and is something to be proud of. I didn't know how to change a tire until I got a flat. Then I googled, "how to change a tire on a 2006 Toyota Tercel SE" and got detailed instructions for my exact car, and changed it in less than 10 minutes. I still wouldn't respond on a survey that I know how to change a tire, because I don't "know". I can however, figure it and pretty much anything else out with instructions, so who cares?
When you carry around a magic box in your pocket or bag that can display step by step instructions for how to do nearly everything, ever, you don't need to learn specific knowledge on banal tasks. All generalizations are false, including this one.Haldol posted...HypnoCoosh posted...
With zero technique she shows how easy it is.
And she does it f***ing wrong lol
She changed the tire. Something people ITT are saying they can't
Maybe her technique was wrong but he completed the job.
Your point is pure butthurt. We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. - C.S. LewisHypnoCoosh posted...Cemith posted...

Doing it wrong can result in a car accident
It's not something you can just take lightly- Boards
