Hey, they need those to fight climate change. Like the Batman needed a tank to stop the city of Gotham from being destroyed.

These hypocrites don't want to have to lower their standard of living but they sure as he'll want you to.

Yeah all that money I'm saving in electricity costs from my development installing solar panels is terrible.

This moronic mentality is kinda why I hope democrats just learn to abandon talking about environmental issues entirely. Not abandon the issues themselves, but just talking about them. Because if they pushed for renewables solely on the concept that it'll save Americans money (quite a lot, from my own experience) they'd accomplish their agenda of bettering the environment AND putting more money in the pockets of Americans. Because asking shitheads to give a shit about anything but themselves is a failure of a strategy.

"In one study, participants were given $2 to spend on a light bulb with a choice between a 50-cent incandescent bulb and a $1.50 compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb. They were told the CFL bulb would last 9,000 more hours and reduce energy costs by 75 percent compared with the old-fashioned bulb.

Both liberal and conservative participants were more likely to choose the CFL bulb, the researchers found. But if the CFL bulb was marked with a sticker that said "Protect The Environment," those who identified as politically moderate or conservative shied away."

Conservatives are so dumb they'll pay more money just to kill the environment faster.

This is why we should totally reject civility in politics. There's no sense in treating it like a simple difference of opinion, it's a struggle for our survival as a species. We must succeed by any means necessary.

CFL Bulbs are old tech

LED Bulb's FTW.

I swapped out all the light bulbs on my property and immediately noticed a 25% power bill saving while having bulbs that lasted longer over CFL's.

You say this like renewables aren't still objectively much more expensive than fossil fuels in most places.

Idiot liberals like this who pretend that renewables are just a big, fat win-win for everyone are as big a problem as deniers.

Renewables, depending on which one is good based on what resource is plentiful and in what region.

In some areas, Wind would be a better choice than solar.

Sunny Desert like areas like in SoCal, solar is best.

Other places, Hydro Electric is the best.

There's no one set of Renewables for all, it's regional / situational.

America just isn't a good country for trying to drum up support for climate policy that may help people 60 years down the line. The public has too many immediate problems to care.

I think you can only get away with being pro-climate if you have a Bernie-esque platform that compensates for the job loss caused by fossil fuel regulations and the closing of mines as well as factories.

Nobody has any time for the Third Way Democrat "our world needs to be perfectly clean, fuck you if you can't survive in it" spin on things.

I don't say that, though? Renewables will eventually become less expensive than fossil fuels, but they aren't quite there yet for everyone. But pretending they're not already saving people money/they're not getting cheaper every year is stupid.

Can you explain how being both cheaper for some consumers already, and cheaper than fossil fuels within the next decade at current pace, on top of being more environmentally friendly isn't a win-win?

You don't have to lower your standards, you have to update them to the 21th century.
I don't know if you really deserve your elite, but keep in mind one thing: if the oceans come to boil, they would not even be affected, unlike you. Don't take them as a model, nor as an excuse.
Just throwing this out there, but if anyone in Florida wants a solar system on their house send me a message, I can make it happen.
