Xbox One X is gonna have a very rough launch IMO

2017 belongs to Nintendo Switch hands down. I just don't know if XBX can make a splashy enough launch in the face of Super Mario Odyssey.

How does a $60 game affect a console launch to the point of making it a rough launch? As it is too it has been said for a while now that the One S is expected to be the top selling Xbox.

If you feel that way then you clearly aren't the target audience for the PS4 Pro and One X.

Good tc now you and Microsoft are on the same page. They don't believe it's going to do big numbers either.

During the holidays many consumers have to make some decisions and pick one console over the other. Switch + Odyssey vs Xbox One X + ? I think the choice will be very clear especially with the Switch's hybrid concept it's just an overall fresher package than a $500 4K console box IMO. I guess the launch games will be a big factor as well so we'll see what happens.

I agree that XB1X won't really do much for MS in terms of sales, it's a niche product that targets a small audience but 2017 belongs to PS4 like the last few years.
Mario Odyssey can't compete with Gran Turismo.

Buyers of the One X don't need to buy any games with it unless they haven't had an Xbox One. It plays the games at a higher resolution and more stable than before. It's a niche product that isn't expected to sell a ton. It would essentially have to not sell at all to have a rough launch.

At least the argument of buying Mario AND a Switch vs a One X makes more sense when it comes to finances than Mario vs One X as the original post sounded.

You seriously think a 3D Mario game is gonna compete with Gran Turismo in sales? People really underestimate GT's popularity. Millions in Europe will literally buy a console just to play Gran Turismo. It's not just a game, it's a phenomenon in that part of the world, kinda like Dragon Quest in Japan but on a larger scale.

Forza can put in 7000 cars in the game, GT will still outsell all Forza games on XB1 combined. Like I said GT is a phenomenon.

On a side note who actually cares about a ridiculous number of cars, most people will only ever drive only a few of them.

Clearly not considering Forza games with all those cars can't even outsell a Gran Turismo demo retailing at $40.

Super Mario Odyssey is the spiritual successor to Mario 64, one of the most groundbreaking games in gaming history. Nuff said.

Which again would be true, it's true for other genres too, go try playing any shooter most people will be playing the same on on the same map over and over.

Until they fix the actual racing in Forza; GT will continue to crush it in sales.

Well Mario is obviously more popular in Japan which helps counter EU's obsession with GT. In the states however, I think Odyssey is the more anticipated game hands down.

Your intense fanboyism led to a response without sense.

The creators of both games keep stuffing them with cars, even lower quality models in some cases, to pad out the numbers, clearly the makers of those franchises, and others, DO care about lots and lots of cars.

The sheer number of games and sales from Forza and GT, in addition to others, also say that those who continue to purchase them also care.

GT5 Prologue with less than 100 cars sold over twice as much as Forza 6 with over 450 cars. That's hard evidence that buyers don't care about the number of cars. Number of cars don't correlate to game sales, that's fact. Just like number of guns don't dictate how much a shooter is going to sell.

I really don't care. Xbox X has Forza 7, PS4 pro has GT Sport, and Forza 7 just looks like a far more complete game.

Honestly, there is very little that I have been a fan of when it comes to PS exclusives this gen.

No, it's not. But again, with your insane level of fanboyism, you fail to realize that I'm talking about both games and the genre as a whole. Unlike yourself I play both and don't have your curious level of bias.

Also I never said more cars correlate to more sales, I said that the creators and players of these games care about lots of vehicles, gave examples to back it up and in your fervent spanking it to Sony sales you forgot to refute my point.

... Because you can't. GT 5 Prologue, your example, added more cars with each update and GT 5 itself had over 1000 cars, of varying model quality to reach that number. But they just did that for funsies according to you I guess.

And let's not forget, of course, in the midst of your fapping that both franchises, with their high number of vehicles and all, are in the 15 highest grossing franchises ever.

You know trolling an Xbox board won't make Sony love you right?

I dunno but he tried to get hit in GT and the cars avoided him. In Forza, he sat perfectly still and the entire race was ruined. Maybe they can flip a switch?

4 years later, all we have currently is a beta to a prologue, you would think GT Sport better be something "complete", but it seems like it will not be a full fledged GT7. Will it be better than terrible 5 and "ok" 6? Who knows? The fact is they had to hire a guy from Turn 10 to do the sounds, because one thing all those millions of GT fans noticed is the horrible sound with each game. But.....but....as we all know sales erase all the faults of those games. I'm sure GTPlanet is ready to give Kaz an award for it. lol

Can't wait to play Forza 7 in 4K as well. It's going to be fun Fall season for racing fans, that's for sure.
Those who say it cannot be done, should not interrupt the one doing it.
