not spelling one's name with capital letters is maybe some kind of statement on perceived lack of self-importance. ironically, it causes the individual to stand out considerably more. i've noticed that people who refuse to type with capital letters are often very obsessed with themselves, however. like, look at me, i don't have time for caps. life can just wade by, what do i care? i'm just here to finish the job before security and the roboguards arrive. heh...

I assume that a problem with the article, we just sex
 but parents don't even want that listed since they think it will push the kids one way. I'm not really sure how they'll handle the whole "what's this thing between my legs?" question. ... Although that question makes me realize the parents are also kind of "unknowns" too (only mentioning a transgender parent "neither male nor female") so I really have no idea where that question might come up.

Sex isn't gender and letting a baby decide what's in their best interest is absolutely idiotic. Babies and children aren't adults capable of critical thinking regarding long term for the most part.

for the record, Spencer Chandra Herbert, a long-time MLA and member of the party now ready to form government in BC, will likely push for legislation on the matter of adding a non-binary/anonymous option for birth certificates, and similar legislation is happening in more conservative parts of Canada like Alberta, so, like, this is a non-issue, get used to it Americans?

It just doesn't make sense to me when this is medically and biologically relevant information. I'm not one to whine about "PC culture" but I feel this is overall doing a disservice to these kids as they grow up.

The father's occupation was once added to a child's birth certificate. Does it really matter if sex is listed?
From a medical point of view doctors aren't looking at a patients birth certificate anyway. I would have an issue if parents attempted to classify a biologically male child a female.
