Nah, they ban racist and bigoted posts. Admiral wouldn't last past his first post there. But definitely not a safe space because they are a bunch of circle-jerking s***s. If you say something they don't like (eg anything slightly conservative leaning) they'll gang up on you. Very condescending pricks, moreso than Gfaqs surprisingly.

Frankly, the libertarian attitude GameFAQs takes towards trolls and offensive posters is the single worst thing about this website. They banned Dennis Dyack as well. It does happen. But they do have other developers there to make up for it. We had Troy Baker for a day and moderated him.

Basically he was rather civil and stated why he didn't agree with the hive mind so they banned him. NeoGAF is a garbage heap and has chased off a lot of the industry insiders over the last few years.

It drives me nuts to see developer AMAs and discussions on reddit and NeoGAF while we get nothing here. How is it that a site that contributes to the gaming community in a critical and unique manner gets the shaft from communication with the developers?

Just because really the age gaps and what not wasn't that severe ya know. They just crucified him because people like to do that to mods when they can.

NeoGAF hasn't "sheltered" anyone, no more than GameFAQs "sheltered" church arsonists by allowing Jediknight to post here.
The simple fact is that NeoGAF is a well-moderated video game forum. Free email addresses aren't eligible for forum account registration, getting an account approved there can take upwards of six months, and the moderators aren't afraid to drop the ban hammer on individuals who post racist and offensive speech. Therefore, it is nearly impossible for race-baiters and trolls to post there, which is probably the reason why so many users here appear to despise it. It is the exact opposite of GameFAQs.
As forums go, it's actually very good though. Users aren't allowed to express hateful and bigoted attitudes, and those that do are cleared out. It's quite nice.
