From HeatStreet:
The Anita Sarkeesian-owned nonprofit Feminist Frequency has long been criticized for its sex-negative approach to video game criticism. But who knew they would take it a step further by going after the perverse sexual desires of an employee at the uber-progressive gaming site Polygon.
In a moment of openness and humility, Polygon’s video producer Nick Robinson confessed to his Twitter followers he hypnoxed to Krystal, the anthropomorphic purple fox from Star Fox Adventures.
"no offense but anyone who acts like they didn't ******* to Krystal from Star Fox Adventures is lying to you" -Babylonian
Feminist Frequency was angered that these kinds of atypical sexual desires could exist in the leftwing video game community and lashed out.
"Nobody in our office feels that way about Krystal. In fact, we find her character deeply disappointing. She's LITERALLY trapped in a crystal. Finding a female character who is damseled and stripped of her agency arousing is kinda gross tbh. Attitudes like this are indicative of just how male-dominated gamer culture remains. NEWS FLASH: We don't care about your boners" -femfreq
In the fetish community, this kind of criticism is known as “kink shaming.” Feminist Frequency is “othering” Robinson’s deeply held and biologically hardwired fetish for purple foxes trapped in crystals.
We at Heat Street have always held a libertarian view towards perverted antisocial kinks like hypnoxing to anthropomorphic video game characters and we hope Polygon will join us in pushing back against the evils of kink shaming.
The real object to be shamed is Feminist Frequency for letting its outdated views towards furry fetish get in the way of their real mission of removing side boobs from video games. Shame! Shame! Shame!
