Terra-enforcer 8 hours ago#1 It's been said to death, but now we all know after actually playing with it for days. The Switch is really the ideal Console. Aside from the obvious, I can't get enough of the fact that you can pay $80, which yes is a bit expensive, but you get two functional controllers that can combine to make a single controller. It's just so damn versatile and games look and play amazingly on it. Nintendo did so much right with this, and this console more than any other really deserves to perform amazingly on the market, I'm just not sure that it'll manage to pull it off for too many reasons, sadly. If you combined 3DS/Vita/WiiU that would be an absurdly insane amount of games even though AAA support is lacking. If at bare minimum, Nintendo can achieve that, its a great console, espedcially for ppl that own multiple systems. reportquote

My X1 can play stronger games than the switch, and can act as a multimedia server enabling me to watch tv, stream movies from my pc, go to YouTube, watch Netflix or all the other unsorted apps. A dedicated tablet that l, as of now, only plays stronger games than regular tablets, is hardly the "ideal" console. And let's stop the "switch was made for GAMERS" no, the switch just lacks features all other consoles have had for 10yrs. king_madden 8 hours ago#14 its ideal for handheld fans. home console fans dont really get much benefit from it other than being a stronger wiiu for better looking/performing games.  it is taking the vitas whole "home console gaming on the go" thing and running with it, but outside of the dedicated handheld gaming community how many people have been craving for home console gaming on the go? i know i havent wished my ps3/ps4 was portable, but i am someone who kind of grew out of the handheld scene, i used the vita streaming thing for a sec, but never logging major hours into it.  ill get the switch when it gets a LOT more games that im interested in that arent on ps4, and also when it gets the streaming, and browser features. if I get it, it will be to replace the tablet I have already, im not for adding more and more devices when Im out and about, ill only add something to replace something. question. One shoddy port of a game that doesn't appear to be living up to the hype is not enough to sell people and Nintendo has learned nothing from their previous anti-consumer stints that ended in utter failure. Mario should have been a launch title, but it's not. They're getting absolutely reamed by piracy on all fronts and I'd say they honestly deserve it right now. Plateau was the most noticable but after that it wasn't too bad. Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need. reportquote

And it's not the perfect console, it's more of a handheld hybrid. You're sacrificing so much power to make it portable, if all you care about is gaming at home on the TV, Switch is under performing. Especially compared to PS4 and XB1 which are actually cheaper. Not to mention worse online, multimedia features, it'll have less games full stop. It's a cool device, but the phrase "jack of all trades, master of none" comes to mind.
