Hopefully they have plans for a cloud storage or at least address this with a patch update.

Yes they'll have cloud storage.

...at the end of the year and you'll have to pay for it.

Most likely not. It seems like it's just them not being prepared. Once the paid service launches, there will likely be cloud storage.

You have to pay for it on Xbox and Playstation, so it isn't a big deal.

Once the system gets hacked you'll be fine.

This kills the main series Pokémon.

I miss the 3DS gamecards already.
Everything will be fire.

I didn't discount cloud storage, but I know Wii was hacked with a fake save file copied to a person's system.

Except on Xbox and PlayStation, you can simply backup your saves to a USB device, so the cloud storage is just a convenience...

At some point you'll likely be able to move saves to the SD card. Do I need to remind you that you couldn't move saves to a USB device on Xbox One and Playstation 4 for months after launch?

Lots of games have game breaking glitches. Because of that I back up save files daily on Playstation. When is this coming? It's a basic necessity of a gaming device for me at least. If I couldn't back up save files, I'd have had my LEGO Dimensions save file corrupted 10 times losing more than 50 hours each time.

Apparently you do, because I got mine like 2 weeks after launch, and USB saves worked right out of the box.

USB saves worked immediately on PS4, but on Xbox One you still can't back up USB. Xbox One is awful and only lets you back up to cloud and you can't even manually back it up. It's only automatic, which is essentially useless.

i dont pay for PSN and i play free online FFXIV and can move my saves to a flash drive, they better fix that and allow you to save on the SD card, why do they use micro SD card if you wont be able to use?
I suspect its because ppl were messing around with saves. I know in Splatoon, ppl would just back up saves when rolling for gear. Or better yet, they would abuse saves to get to a higher rank in solo.

I hope they actually try to make it possible to backup saves because right now this just a downgrade from both wii u and 3ds (which is sad and stupid in any way possible)

The lack of any way to back up saves is quite an omission, but this is one of the Switch criticisms that I think is very likely to be fixed, especially since there are so many potential options for Nintendo to fix it.

You don't have to pay for cloud saves on Xbox One and PS4 supports copying saves to external USB devices, so Nintendo are the only ones without some way of backing saves up for free.

You may need to remind yourself to check before posting incorrect information. The PS4 had the ability to copy saves to USB at launch. Here's a guide on how to do it that was posted in December 2013:
