Every other damn system can find the access point and connect.. except for this one. 3ds worked fine, as did all the sony consoles.
So now for this one I have to waste money on a stupid adapter because oh hey look, they dont even have the tech to connect the cable straight away, nope need ANOTHER accessory to use the cable. So because wifi has issues, have to go use cables |
Mine is working fine. I downloaded Shovel Knight Specter of Torment and the Snipperclips demo no problem.
Also, PS4 has that problem where the Store and Messages and Trophies won't load unless you log out and log back in. Xbone has the issue where it takes hours to install games over the Internet where it's competition can have the same game over the same connection in 10 minutes. Be informed before you sling mud.

It's weird my one wifi AP it couldn't connect to, but one of my other ones it connected to easily(I have 3 due to having wire lath in the walls that really messes with signals). I found the same thing though with the Wii U it didn't like my one AP for some reason, and nothing I could do would get it to connect.
AstralFrost: What part is unique about the Wii U thats actually positive? The underpowered console? The direct ipad ripoff controller? The slew of platformers?

Just because yours does not work, does not mean its the system itself, some electronics are looking for different frequencies, maybe yours is too crowded in your area, try other things before coming here spilling poison.

Yeah, the wifi card in here is s***. I get over 100 mbps download on my 5ghz network on wifi on my laptop but I can't even connect to it on the switch so I have to use a 2.4ghz connection and it sinks down to 7 mbps, which on my laptop I could get at least 40 mbps download.
I'm not looking for help, I'm complaining. This is GameFAQs, isn't it? ~ Shad0wflare

the system has wifi issues but I only tried while undocked. I kept having to mess around with the switch to get it to connect. Its always nintendo systems that give me problems with wifi or online. 1st it was the ds and now its the switch. nintendo should have the same wifi system that my other consoles and iphone have. There is no excuse if they really got some weird different software/hardware for this. I eventually got connected but I really hope I wont have these troubles everytime I want to to connect to the internet.

Not saying this applies to you, but from my years of T&S I know the biggest issue is usually the person operating the device itself.

I'm still waiting to hear why TC blatantly lied or chose to be ignorant to the fact that PS4 and Xbox both have their own problems when it comes to purchasing and downloading from their online store or connecting to their respective services

It's driving me bonkers, I can't figure it out either. For me it's a range issue. I can easily download things near the router, like 10 feet away, but as soon as I move to 40 I get absolutely no signal. Thing is, I play all my other systems out there online just fine, and download things relatively quickly.

I can't find any wireless networks at all. Searching comes up with nothing. Never had any problems connecting anything else. Does anyone have any ideas? I've heard I need to connect to the Internet for an update to sort the messed up left controller. Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything.

Not true. They improved the card in both the PRO and SLIM. Its still better for me to hook it up to the nice wifi card in my cable box though.

In handheld mode I had no problem. Docked upstairs I could not go online. Moved it to the living room docked downstairs and it worked fine. Will try it docked in my bedroom again another day.
Tomorrow I'll start Zelda after work so Bomberman can wait :p I can't get over how small this console is :)

as did all the sony consoles That must be why the topic of the system not finding someone's wifi signal is still made like weekly on the PSP forum. Because no Sony console has this problem.

Hmm... this problem is pretty random. My Switch is fine about 3 feet from my router, but drops dramatically if I go any farther away. When docked and about 9 feet away, it has a lot of trouble connecting, and if it does it gets about 1 Mbps down and 250 Kbps up.
Fairly new 2.4 Ghz router with up to date firmware. All other devices in the same room have zero connection issues and fast download speeds. The one wall between the router and the Switch isn't concrete or anything. Bummer. |
The problem with 5 GHz routers is that they dont transmit a signal as far as the old 2.4 GHz. As stated above a signal in the 2.4 GHz range can travel farther than a signal in the 5 GHz range. This is due to the physics of wireless signals, with signals on lower frequencies able to transmit farther.

Seems okay to me and similar to my WiiU wifi speed results.
https://postimg.org/image/93p1h3hix/ Never had great results via wifi with any of my consoles or laptops which is why I have my PS4 connected directly via ethernet (even then I max out at 110Mbps when I can usually get 126Mbps at my desktop PC)

The Wi-fi is s***. Only device in my house having these issues.
Took over an hour to finally get all set-up , connected and updated after multiple failed attempts. Even still the connection signal struggles to maintain 1 bar. My Wii U, PS4, X1, N3DS, Vita all have 0 issues with this. Definitely shoddy work from Nintendo

I'm assuming you mean video game console system. Plenty of phones have had these issues. Even Apple phones, which was a hardware flaw. Doesn't excuse it. Just pointing out it isn't the only device that he ever had connection issues. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed with a firmware update for those who are having issues and isn't actually a hardware issue.

The Wi-fi is s***. Only device in my house having these issues. Interesting. I've had zero issues with mine on two different networks so I decided to test it. -Went to the far room of the house (several walls and kitchen between me and the router) and works fine -So I went out and across my yard works fine. -went across the street and still going good. -So I walked down the street and onto the other side of the neighbors house and it still connected, but a bit slowly and the download speed was really low at 1.3. No big deal since I was so far away with 2 houses worth of material and walls between me and the router. For those of you having issues have you checked your router settings to make sure nothing is set wrong? Like Having portforwarding on for one device while also having UPnP on (which will screw both up) etc...? Try using UPnP only to open all your NAT's instead of DMZ or Portforwading. Just a guess. |

It must be your fault TC because Nintendo does no wrong and defects don't exist ever. It's not being a "Nintendrone" when TC outright claims Sony and Microsoft ever had this problem. It is being a child to throw a hissy fit like this when someone corrects him.
