Because they have to be escaped into the HTML entity for quotation marks before they can be put into whatever database the boards use, otherwise stray quotation marks could screw with a lot of things in post saving and retrieval. Same thing goes for the ampersand and probably other characters as well.

I mean, here's video footage of pizzagaters asking him questions and making very nasty implications about his business in particular. What is your excuse for this? These are all paid actors out to make pizzagate conspiracy theorists look bad?
At 5:19 Alefantis is giving the person recording a tour to show him there isn't anything weird going on. This place is basically a lower budget version of Chuck E. Cheese and those kind of places, and when Alefantis says "this is the kid's party room," the pizzagater gives the camera a look like it's the most nefarious thing he ever heard.
These people were pushing the narrative that Comet Pizza, in particular, was a chamber of horrors, that's why that man showed up there and started firing off the gun, under the pretext of saving the kids. Of course, all he managed to do was to terrify the kids who were there, who were only being abused by HIM by being put in fear of their lives by what he was doing.

These are the same people who take a quote from a famous person out of context as a statement that validates their conspiracy theories. Then, when said person later clarifies that no, that was NOT what they meant... said conspiracists will then go "well, he had to say that, because THEY threatened him/his family if he didn't recant"
And you're pretending that sounds unlikely in any way when the government is already trying to take away the conspiracy theory guy's kids.Alex Jones did throw fuel onto this fire and that's why he made it a point to publicly apologize and try to distance himself from the whole thing because he had to do that within a certain deadline or else there would have been much more severe measures taken against him if Alefantis took legal action against his slander and libel.
Having said all that, anyone can say "there is a pedophile ring" and likely be right at any given time. There is an infamous one on the Deep Web that authorities keep tabs on.
Except what pizzagaters do is say, "there is a pedophile ring, therefore Hillary Clinton is a part of it because my tea leaves told me so, therefore we should arrest her and lock her up for life."
You are reading what you want to read into those emails because you have a fascist desire to lock up political opponents on the flimsiest of evidence (more like no evidence at all, really), and whenever anything about that "evidence" gets debunked, you just deny, deny, deny that pizzagaters were ever saying it in the first place even when there is proof to the contrary and everyone remembers them saying these things.
I'd like to point out that the Pizzagate conspiracy theory (which tied in with Spirit Cooking, BTW) is an old conspiracy trope from the 80's-- secret Satanic pedophile cabals at high levels of government. They engage in Satanic Ritual Abuse to fuel their black magick to bless their campaigns/political endeavors, curse their opponents, and usher in the Antichrist. As to what "Satanic Ritual Abuse" is, it generally entails mock crucifixions/blood libel and/or kiddie diddling. The suffering of the innocent victims fuels the black magick.
