So yeah, Missingno. is awesome, to put it mildly. :) I remember struggling in Red Version, back when I was but a young noob. My neighbors saw I needed help, so they gave me instructions for how to clone my Rare Candy. As they were telling me this stuff, I was wondering if they were crazy, because it sounded so random and arbitrary, but when I first saw that L-shaped mass of pixels sliding across my screen, I was intrigued. Scared as all hell of the vicious rumors that it could erase your game, but eventually, curiosity overcame fear, I caught a Missingno., and the rest, as they say, is history. I've made fanart. I've written a fanfic. I incorporated it into my damn username. I've voted to have it be the next playable character in Super Smash Bros and asked many people to do likewise. In fact, anyone want to see some of this fanart, or read the fanfic?

I always had the idea that Missingno. could be an Ultra Beast. Though its typing would be a bit of a hard choice. My idea would be Bug/Flying or Bug/Dark.
The broad and clawed, the no truce mongoose, the toxic boosted monster, Zangoose!

Despite all the rumors and urban legends surrounding it, Missingno is actually a fairly harmless glitch. There are glitches in gen 1 that are much worse. Worst Missingno does is f***s with your Hall of Fame.

For those that don't know or refuse to believe (Like a certain fan...) MissingNo, or Missing Number, is invalid data often associated with attempting to find a Pokemon that doesn't exist. As an example, back in Gen 1 when you attempted to fight Pokemon 305, the game didn't know how to handle that request but it didn't know how to deny the request either, so it took pieces of data from various places to create an error. That's why certain MissingNo Pokemon will have the battle sprite of a fossil, or why u (Better known of Glitchy Charizard) would have the battle sprite of a Charizard, the game simply took the data of something and used that as the sprite.
MissingNo was never meant to be a Pokemon, and Nintendo themselves have stated this, however Game Freak started implementing check sums or hack checks (Which people often refer to as Bad Egg but other known names are "Target" or "Two Question Marks"). These things are also NOT Pokemon, as they do not behave as a Pokemon would and the games don't treat them as Pokemon. But back to my original statement. MissingNo is in a way still in the game, even if it's changed some. Now, should the ORIGINAL MissingNo appear? Well, no. Maybe it could be mentioned, like at an office, school or such and one of Super Nerds, Scientists or even Schoolboys/girls says something about how his/her program keeps pulling up a Missing Number.
