its even worse when you get mentioned because someone wants to argue with you edit: the actual worst is when someone mentions you and then that post gets quoted. i had seven mentions from over the weekend that were all because of this. annoying.

I've had this happen recently. I didn't want to argue because I already knew that the person wasn't going to agree with me. I ended up putting said user on my ignore list.

@Tappor has a good point, you should be able to disable mentions.
I guess I'm something of a ne'er do well.
