I let my salty mood sit for a day after losing 400+ levels. Figured I'd try again. Got to the title screen and the salt came back... Can't even bare to look at the damn box anymore. In all my years I've never seen a nerf this bad.
I'm old school (39 years old) so maybe it's a generation thing, but I miss when games were released complete more than ever. Not sure how anyone can support a dishonest company like this any more. End rant. Farewell Nioh board. (Deletes game from ps4) |

Bro its not that bad, forget the fact you're not 750 just play and have fun. The new weapon is fun. I got deleveled too, it sucks, but its not that serious. It's a mental thing. Knowing I've been robbed and disrespected by TN. As a consumer, I can't let this go. 400 levels is not a small deal. |

What happened man? People over level 400 got robbed of their levels, and blocked from getting it again by a new level cap.

You kept all the xp. You are still in the top% of people in terms of lvl and total amarita. Someone who is lvl 180 and lost no lvls still needs an absurd amount of amarita to get where you are. You lost lvls because it was reformatted, you didn't lose experience or your place at the top% of the current lvl cap.
I just don't understand the salt. |

And all because they decided they screwed up the scaling MONTHS after release? Can no longer switch between weapons despite grinding and reforging for hours to get them all. Why would anyone NOT be pissed?? Fun was taken away. |

The super de-level affects the build, the dmg and thus the play style... Used to be able to finish up things with 'sign of the cross' but can't do it now. Weapon dmg dropped from 1900+ to 1300 ... The weapon scale accordingly to example skill, health ,etc. Dropping stats have great impact. So even if somehow manage to upgrade the weapon to 185 +15, it may not have the previous dmg with level maintain. Anyway, the 400 level cap a rumour? How can the level cap at 400 when the 'way of the demon' mission level is 470 or higher? ... Furthermore someone calculated, you need around 195 billion amritas to reach back to 750 (thats if its not capped) ... |

Exactly. I used to swap weapons depending on the stage. This was taken away from me as you can only really maximize one weapon if that. People should be furious about this. Can't they just increase the each stat level to 125 or more. So for those who wanna grind to level 750 its still 10 million amritas for each level but if u wanna upgrade from level 750 the new level requirement kicks in. In this way, nothing is taken from us and we are not weakened. Everyone is happy. From all the options, they chose the worst one. A lot of us spend time grinding to our previous level ... |
I'm seriously considering restarting my character and going back to the initial patch to use the amrita exploit to farm 195 billion amrita if that's the case. The best thing about being level 750 is that you could use any weapon at any time and have the damage be optimal with every option, this latest patch kills that.

I'm more upset about what they did to Haze. Farming Marobashi wasn't just lucrative, it was FUN. But now...profound sadness.
Parrying was so satisfying and rewarding in Nioh. Great risk versus reward. I understand the need for balancing, but come on. Couldn't they just have nerfed it versus other players but left it alone otherwise?

It's not the balancing as much as it's the inability to freely choose weapons. I loved the ability to swap it up to keep things fresh. Now all weapons but one are useless. It was not well thought out. |
I also went down from 750 to 328 and now I'm lvl 333. I understand why they did it, though I critizize that they had to do it. it shows that the devs didn't think out their work. months after release we still got nerfs every patch.
but with reaching the new weapon caps, you will be as strong as before when you was lvl 750 or even stronger. I don't pay much attention to the damage numbers, but I just did some runs at this lvl 330 hyakki whatsoever tea time level where you fight the ogress, spiderwoman, hinoenma and 100 eyes. I used a lvl 175+13 sayaorashi and destroyed all of them pretty easy. easier than before when I was lvl 750 with my 160+10 shiranui. so maybe they nerfed the enemies' hp also, dunno. getting hit by enemies costs much more life now but besides that, it mostley feels like the same game. but the balance still seems to be pretty questionable. some axe dudes can 2-hit my on way of samurai, while I can 3-shot the last boss of the DLC on way of the strong. |

I like the patch. I love that the cap is now 400. 99 in every stat felt generic, but now stat distribution amongst players is more diverse. So happy :)))) That makes no sense. You could have just put a cap on yourself like souls players do, and let others do what they want.

It's almost as if that's the point. As if choosing wisely is ya know.. a build or something. Heck, you still could make every weapon have relatively similar power if you absolutely wanted to. Just level up their respective stats evenly and BAM! All of them should do just fine. You'll be a jack of all trades fighter with a trade off of not doing as much damage as a specialized build of course.. but you know. That's the point of BUILDS and leveling wisely.

RyuForce posted...The___Hope posted... I never said the Devs handled it well just that I'm in no way surprise that they did. On the other hand, other loot games are known to shake things up after several months later and I assume they waited to make sure they had an assessment of the situation. Now on the other hand, if there's a Nioh 2 and they make this same mistake twice... then that's a problem. As in that case, Team Ninja learned nothing from their first attempt at loot/darksouls style games. EDIT: BUT YES, the Devs should of least brought this up sooner that they had to retool the leveling system and least say sorry. That's the one part I do agree on. Yeah they give people a free tome to respec but the lack of warning is the one part I'll agree they should of done.

I like it like this. I play A LOT of coop, and like the fact that I have a build that is limited, as well as the people I'm playing with. We aren't both 99 in all stats. I look at them, and I'm like "sweet, our stats are different :)))!". Love it! Yay! I'm so happy :))))
